I'd say most of the times, they are jealous cos i can write with my left hand and handle the mouse easily with the right:) I did feel ill at ease being the center of attention...but then again, it's nice getting all the attention once in a while:)) Must say, being left handed is quite a blessing:) |

Usually in a class of 200 there will be 1 or 2 left-handed desks, right at the back of the room, usually broken, and some clueless right-handers will always get them before you do.
They are okay in class if you are not a big note-taker. But when you are trying to write an exam they are awful -- you have to lean to the right so you can get pen to paper, and then it looks like you are trying to copy off the person next to you.
Everything else about being a lefty is great. |

| | imagefalling | Dec 19, 2004 7:32am | | i have definitely never felt ill at ease. granted i am young enough so that i wasn't exposed to the draconian measures employed by educators in the past ('left' being the latin word for 'sinister')..i have always felt proud of being left handed, and felt a certain kinship with with other lefties. also, i have noted that among groups of friends i found myself part of at various times, the prevalence of left handed people was much greater than the statistics would indicate (the norm being 1 out of 9 or 10, i think). |

I must admit being clueless to Geoff's plight in that, I never notice when things are out of proportion due to my left-handedness. Are any of you lefties of the ilk that twists their hand all the way inwards and looks like they are writing upside down? That's how my father writes to this day.
Lefty (in more ways than one!) B. |
